Michael Rose (1971-     )

Michael Rose, composerMichael Rose’s compositions have been performed by American Opera Projects and Eighth Blackbird, among others, at venues across the U.S. and on a state tour of the Balkans. He has received numerous awards, most recently from Meet the Composer and a Fulbright for study in Kerala, India for the 2006-07 academic year. Upcoming premieres include performances by the Richmond County Orchestra, Inoue Chamber Ensemble, Momenta Quartet, cellist Juho Laitinen at Merkin Hall, and a recording of Grimm’s tales by soprano Christine Moore. Rose has taught piano, composition, and theory at the Brooklyn Conservatory since 1995 and is founder and organizer of the conservatory’s New Music Collective concert series. He was in residence at the artists' community "Yaddo" during the summer of 2011.
