Sarah Horick (1984-     )

Sarah Horick, composerSarah Horick writes both acoustic and electroacoustic concert music. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition from Furman University in 2006 where she studied with Mark Kilstofte. She pursued her graduate study at Florida State University where she studied with Mark Wingate and Ladislav Kubik. Her works have been performed in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Italy, and she has been commissioned by soprano Tamara Matthews, conductor Leslie Hicken, the Erie Saxophone Quartet, and clarinetist Jeffrey Brooks, among others. Horick's works have been programmed on a number of festivals including the Asolo Song Festival in Paderno del Grappa, Italy; FEASt FEST at Florida International University, Grand Valley State University's Free Play 10: Listening Chamber, Florida State University's Festival of New Music, and the LaSalle University War and Peace concert. She was selected as a finalist in the Vancouver Chamber Choir's Young Composers Competition in 2007 and was also a finalist in the Schlern International Music Festival Voice Competition in Vols am Schlern, Italy in 2007.
