George Grella (1964- )
George Grella is a composer, writer and hands on digital technology expert and media producer. His creative and critical work disintegrates the boundaries between high art and popular culture, concept and commodity, abstract values and their ethical and moral applications. He has been seen and heard on stage at Weill Recital Hall, the original Knitting Factory, the now-lost CBGB and Café du Nord. Composed works include music for theater and dance pieces by Mandy Keifetz, Dawn Saito and Tai Dang, song settings of letters and poetry, musique concréte responses to Richard Wagner, etudes for Apple Garageband software, Radiohead and NIN remixes, and sound-logos and ring-tones. His work Big City for chamber group and electronic sound was recently performed by the Delta State University New Music Ensemble. He currently runs thebigcityblog.com and writes for ClassicalTV.com, Time Out New York, and other publications.COMPOSITIONS Grella Links ~ ~ ~ Works by Genre
