Da Jeong Choi (1973- )
Da Jeong Choi is currently a teaching fellow in the Division of
Composition Studies and the Division of Music History, Theory, and
Ethnomusicology at the University of North Texas, Denton. She
is also currently president of the Composers Forum at
UNT. Her works have been widely performed throughout Asia,
America and, most recently, Europe. In addition, Choi serves music
director of the CHOI Ensemble (Contemporary Music Ensemble). Her
composition series Cantus Curatio ("Healing
Melody" in Latin) for various solo instruments begun in 2008, is similar to the solo
composition series of Luciano Berio (Sequenza) and Vincent Persichetti (Parables). Each work is dedicated to victims who have been diagnosed with a different disease.COMPOSITIONS Choi Links ~ ~ ~ Works by Genre
